On the threshold of new challenges of globalization
The author’s summary. The beginning of the new Millennium in their events were no less eventful than the last century. If at the end of the twentieth century it seemed that the new world order formed for centuries, at the present time, this illusion came to an end. Unipolar capitalist neoliberal model with the dominance of the United States have been subjected to calls that have not yet found final answers. The role of Russia as the “great raw power” was untenable and demanded their revision. The modern world order was unstable because the world’s new centres have been formed that are not willing to put up with the world. On the geopolitical map of the world Russia is faced with new challenges, both external and internal, to which it must either find a decent answer, or to disappear from the world stage. This situation is exacerbated by the unprecedented pressure of the Western world headed by U.S. domestic and foreign policy of Russia. The world faces a new choice of the future model of development of the global system or can be retracted into a third world war, which might terminate the existence of human civilization.
Keywords: world system, world order, globalism, neoliberalism, challenges, centers of influence, popular culture.

Regroup shore batteries and the strengthening of the defense system in the terrestrial frame COP before the defense of Sevastopol
This paper is mainly discussing the history of the transformation of costal batteries and the reinforcement land-defense. Sevastopol in military tradition has been the naval and coastal base in the history of Russia and the USSR, in this case naval force and coastal artillery were the major power in terms of defending the port and the city of Sevastopol. Deferent from the Crimea War in 1853-56, defensive tasks of Sevastopol during the Great Patriotic War became complicated relating to the warfare from land, air and sea. Because of the absence of the land-defense and shortage of establishing such works before the battle of Sevastopol, the transformation and strengthen of shore batteries with land-defensive aims had become extreme and urgent affairs. Such process is not only the typical and classical example in the history of the Great Patriotic War, but also in the world military history. Therefore, Sevastopol’s shore batteries in fact transformed to land-defensive system against enemy’s troopers and tanks. Under the main leading role of shore batteries, shore artillery together with other land fortifications largely strengthened and enlarged the defensive potentials of Sevastopol, which were the fundamental conditions leading to the successful defensive operations of Sevastopol in the end of year 1941.
Keywords: Sevastopol, transformation, strengthen, coastal/shore batteries, land-defense, defensive area.
