The transformation of traditional socio-cultural spaces

The article considers the influence of marketing on the transformation of a traditional society with its traditional values into a consumer society. The development of capitalism inevitably leads to changes in the socio-political order of the whole modern world. This leads to the fact that traditional norms and values, beliefs, moral and ethical values disappear along with such traditional elements of culture as crafts, songs, dances and rites. Instead of the existing traditional culture, mass culture is formed, a consumer society develops, because anything that can be sold turns into goods.

Marketing is one of the tools for consumer society formation, but it also performs another less prominent function, that is it transforms the traditional society into a consumer society with its values, mythology, norms and moral principles.

Keywords: marketing, traditional and popular culture, consumer society, fashion, advertising, values, goods.
