The Yellow Jackets Movement in France is one of the new social and political movements of the social protest, associated with the disappointment of the active part of French society in its own political establishment, traditional national political parties and in their ability to lead the country out of the systemic crisis. The authors of the article link the Yellow Jackets Movement with the onset of the Postmodern context, when traditional ideologies and mechanisms of political mobilization do not work, are increasingly being replaced by social networks. French society, having experienced disappointment during the "crisis presidency" of N. Sarkozy and "weak presidency" of F. Hollande, consolidated around the "centrist platform" of E. At the same time, the liberal reforms initiated by Macron, carried out without the necessary dialogue and feedback from society, provoked a large-scale protest, the prospects and consequences of which are still difficult to predict.
